The patient is the focus of this report. The design and creation circles around patients care and how a hospital and it's doctors and nurses become a vital role in not just their disease but in their path to recovery - giving them the opportunity to enjoy life. This report although focuses on the treatment and support of the patient, it also gives tribute to the dedication and hard work of the professionals whom work tirelessly in the fight against cancer.
The Oncology Annual report is a heavily photograph illustrated booklet that delves into the lives of cancer patients, their treatments and the doctors that treat them. With six sections, the report shows the physicians, patients stories, hospital locations as well as the different avenues the hospital system goes to when developing relationships with their community.
At UCHealth Cancer Care we are devoted to providing the highest level of cancer care, compassion and medical expertise to the patients and families we serve.
Our experts treat the whole person, not just the disease. The team approach reduces the complexity of cancer care.
The success of any project or mission lies with the trust and respect. The doctors at UCHealth are no different. They believe that it takes a team of experts to beat cancer.
"No one physician can take care of neuroendocrine
cancer patients. It requires a diverse team of specialists that approach the patient together, each bringing treatment tools to the table."
This unique report is visually vibrant and dimensional. It's generous amount of strong conceptual photography and editorial layout pushes past what you would expect from a dense yearly report. This report focuses on the communities that the health system has effected and what better way to pay tribute than to illustrate real patient stories and how UCHealth is proud to be a part of the communities successes.
The Shine campaign came from a very special place. It was inspired by a slam poet who spoke about the moments when you are facing life under extraordinary odds and you keep fighting. Shine is about finding those moments that make you happy, proud, inspired and how they can guide you to a better place. We know that disease and injuries can be difficult and we want to not highlight the struggle so much as we want to celebrate lives and each of those special moments that make life worth living.
What's Love is a campaign that developed to create awareness for those of us that are too busy to bother with doctors appointments. With several personas we tried to target the moments that hold special meaning such as a graduation or teaching your child how to swing a bat. This campaign involved print, digital, out of home and a commercial.
The re-band of this blood donation bus was drastic. The problem we were trying to solve was how to get people to notice this bus. Statistically, 30 minutes of a person time donating blood can save three lives. Also an important part of this re-brand was to make sure people knew that the blood donated, stayed local. I came up with the idea that anyone can be a hero to their neighborhood. I chose the style of art to be a classic Roy Lichtenstein comic design to play up the the super hero aspect with shocking bold colors. Drawn to highlight the local historic and well-known locations throughout Fort Collins we made this bus a visual treat for its locals.
Light and fun these simply exist to be fun and thoughtful.
Cutting edge technology, clinical expertise and high quality were descriptions of this high end direct mailer. It announced an important piece of technology and the experienced surgeons to the local public. This was a wow piece meant to capture perspective patient's attention. And it was a great success. The graphics are dark and dramatic to showcase the star of the show – The Watchman Device.
Breathing life into an idea can be a struggle – fostering an idea that translates into a culture is the challenge that we tackled. The Inspire campaign began from an instinct to create a healthy lifestyle by targeting the very heart of the matter. One word to describe why you should care and a simple image that conveys our message.
I like to call this kind of design, eye candy. It is quite a bit of work, but because it is so visual it easily catches the eye.
These ads are both shocking and erotic in their simplicity. The Integrative Medicine Clinic offers acupuncture, massage and chiropractic healing. Taking the road less traveled, the design and copywriting found harmony in the intrigue and drama of the images and the play on words.
The creation of these ads stemmed from the idea to create an unexpected visual. Complimented with both print and digital, this new style of design influenced a campaign full of movement and simplicity that pushed communication to new artistic boundaries.
The concept for this campaign development in response to the Human Relations need to find only the best employees. We featured real employees in their environment. We wanted to capture a moment in their day where they felt like they really excelled and found great pleasure in where they work and what they did.

My goal for these social ads was to develop a simple but impactful graphic that drew the eye by the simplicity of the line drawings and the contrast of the dark background.
Walk the Rockies campaign is about getting people to be active. One of the best ways to do this, is to walk. And it all starts with the admiration and enjoyment of the beloved Colorado baseball team, The Rockies. The materials produced were digital stadium boards and digital ads.
Flying high with college pride, the Colorado State University took on the Colorado University at the Broncos Mile High Stadium. Select students were able to go down on the field at half time and kick a football into a net and be able to score tuition for their next semester. Project included digital stadium boards, banners, digital ads and a table football game on site at the Mile High Stadium.
